What is the Dragon Boat Festival?
The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Festival, is a traditional Chinese holiday that takes place on the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar. It is a time-honored celebration that commemorates the life and death of Qu Yuan, a patriotic poet from ancient China.
The festival is best known for its vibrant dragon boat races, as well as the sharing of zongzi, a delicious traditional food made of glutinous rice wrapped in bamboo leaves. It’s a day rich in history, culture, and family values.
